What is IR in Fantasy Football?

IR in fantasy football stands for "Injured Reserve." It refers to a roster designation for players who are injured and expected to miss significant time due to injury. Placing a player on IR allows fantasy managers to free up a roster spot while retaining the injured player for future use once they are healthy and eligible to return to action.

In the NFL, players placed on IR are required to miss a minimum of three games before they are eligible to return to the active roster. However, if a player's injury is more serious or requires an extended recovery period, they may remain on IR for the remainder of the season.
